DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

how’s the sound alter the sound signature without the mesh?

There usually is some change in overall sound balance when grills are removed from various IEM's, I'm sure there was when I lost the mesh from both sides on my 2000J. Sadly it was so long ago now that this happened that I really can't remember how the sound changed.

I now use the Comply TSX foam tips with the wax guard to protect the opening, the DN-2000J still sounds good to me but I don't use it as much as I used to.

My old pair were "loaned" and came back without the mesh on one earpiece, I didn't notice any difference, but I'm not the most sensitive listener.

I've been using SpinFit CP145 for a week and I'm still not sure if I like them or not.
Sound is a bit duller, with better bass if I manage to find the correct position. Some albums sound great with them, others not so much.
I also have a similar issue that I have when using bass rings - something with the pressure in my inner ear making me feeling uncomfortable.

Has anyone had these re-cabled and can recommend where to get it done? The covering on the wire to one side keeps splitting off, exposing the two wires inside. Shrink wrap just moves the break in the covering to another place...

The cable on mine was still OK when I sold it. It may be worth looking at getting mmcx sockets added so that you can use different cables. Other than that I can't help I'm afraid.

Has anyone heard of 2000j with iBasso dx200? Do I make a good pair?

I put my DN2000j for sale on eBay, and at the last minute I pulled the listing. I think I got a bit emotional over letting them go as they were my first step into the world of decent IEMs.

Good decision!

I have some issues with the cable of my headphones.

Any ideas how to fix it?
Besides that, I've lost all my “slide on” accessories. Any ideas where I can order a replacement?

Saw them on Amazon for a good price, and haven't looked back since. I rolled through a number of TWFK IEMs and really liked their sound, but I was always on the lookout for a bit more extension and impact on the bass. The DUNUs were tuned just right for my tastes and I think they're one of the best you can get under $200, sound-wise at least.

That’s a pity that has happened. These seem to be a bit rare now. Not sure where you are based, but Penon audio have them for $349. AMP3 also have them at £259 but are currently out of stock.
