Aha! The tips fit securely and haven't come off in my ears once. I know what you're talking about, though. I've had that issue with IEM from other brands. Rather annoying

I haven't had problems with that once, but frankly speaking, I've never really had any problems with that kind of nozzle. DN-2k2, Fidue A73, Shure SE425 and SE846, Westone W4R and I am sure many other in-ears that lack some sort of fin/stopper on the nozzle - no problems whatsoever. I have to say though that I am a hardcore stock silicone tips user and that for tip rollers, this might become a problem with some in-ears.
The only problem with eartips becoming loose from time to time is with my modified Etymotic ER-4S Tips (pictures below) That I needed to cut and re-arrange to get a decent seel past the second bend in my ear canal. I guess you can imagine how much I freaked out when the tips got stuck very deep inside my ear canals for the very first time, but I got used to it and tweezers have become my friend.
Honestly, I don't see such a problem with the DN-2k2. Its nozzle is thick enough to provide enough friction as well as tightness. If you don't dip your bare in-ear nozzles into olive oil every day and aren't using too loosely fitting aftermarket tips (which is not really a realistic scenarui), there shouldn't be any problem with that.
I think what I've done is easily visible in the picture. This ensures getting a deep seal in my wide ear canals while maintaining the correct tip length.

I finally was able to get a good seal using some large Comply T500 that I had around. They made up for the lack of "reach" of the nozzle to get to my canal. The downside is, I hate Comply eartips. They're like being hooked on a drug that you always have to replenish your stash. I guess my dimensions are all wrong for the 2k2 design, using the supplied tips. I was startled by the SQ once I achieved a proper seal.

We must have similar ear anatomy. I also find Comply of triple flanges to work best for getting a good seal. Once that seal is acheived, DN2002 sound quite impressive. Like DN2KJ without the heat up top.

I just ordered a 5 pack of Comply TX-500 for $28.00! I hope whatever your designers are fabricating for me, will work and allow me to say goodbye to my "Foam Pusher".
chawya22: Have you tried triple flange tips yet? I found they sound similar to foam tips, fit securely , but they're not disposable. Might be a good option for you, too.
