DUNU 4 Driver, 5 Driver new Hybrid earphone presentation on 2015 the 22nd Beijing International Hi-Fi Exhibition

@hi-fi amateur: What do you mean by boring? Personally, I wouldn't describe DN2KJ as boring. I need more time with them both but my initial thoughts are that DN2002 is the smoother operator while the DN2KJ is more energetic on either end of the FR. Right now, I think I'd choose DN2002 for sound but DN2KJ for ergonomics. I'm having a bit of a hard time getting a secure fit with DN2002. Of course YMMV.

Maybe @HiFiChris can relate his experience with both.

More bass on the DN-2000J?

That's what I'm hearing, bro. Surprised the hell out of me to be honest. Might be my anatomy. I'm having a hard time getting a secure fit with them, whereas DN2KJ fit me like a glove. However, my quick n dirty measurements back this up. That's one reason I'd like HiFiChris to chime in since I'm pretty sure he's heard both, as well.

As Uberclocked has already linked, here are my impressions. Yep, still thinking and hearing the same as I wrote earlier (2k2 being bassier than 2kj). Just as with the Titan series, the amount by how much the vents are covered is responsible for the amount of bass the in-ears will have. With the DN-2002, it is the same. In my ears, it has exactly 2 dB more bass than the DN-2000J. I've double-and triple-checked that using an EQ to boost DN-2002's treble and lower its bass. The same with the DN-2000J where I dialed in more treble and subtracted a little bass (just out of curiosity to see what's different about the DN-2002 in my ear).

Oh and btw, I am using the white silicone tips. No fan of the SpinFit tips, as in my ears, they reduce treble quantity, just as @james444 also said (he is no fan of the SpinFit tips either). Strangely though although I am hearing it differently, my measurements indicate that the SpinFit tips slightly boost the treble - which is definitely not the case in my ears. Having wide and straight ear canals, I get a sufficient fit and insertion angle with about every in-ear. Only with very few that don't fit well in my ears, the SpinFit tips actually work "as advertised", improving treble extension and boosting its quantity a bit.

But before I head over to the SpinFit measurements that I cannot relate what I am hearing, let's look at the measured frequency response with the white silicone tips (as usual, they were made with my Vibro Veritas and pseudo-calibrated for diffuse-field compensated measurements with a real IEC711 coupler but still have some issues around 3 and 6 kHz where one should add around 5 and around 10 dB at the latter to make them more plausible with any measured in-ear). What I tried to do is to simulate how the DN-2002 sounds in different ears where the vents might be covered differently. So in one's ears, the DN-2002 will have more low end quantity than the dark yellow line but less than the bright yellow line. In my ears, the DN-2002 is bassier than the DN-2000J.

As for the SpinFit tips: my measurements below (both with completely freely sitting vents in the acoustic coupler - as free as thy'll most likely never be in one's ears; the measurements are just there to show the measured effect of the SpinFit tips) indicate that they increase treble levels although I (and I'm not alone here) am hearing it differently.

I received my DN-2002 and overall I'm happy with the build quality and the sound, so far. The only problem I see is, these were designed for people with, IMO, very small ears. I'm 6'5" and I don't really think I have very large ears but the way the cable housing is designed, my Tragus prevents me from being able to get a deep insertion, with the cable down. The nozzle just isn't long enough. Over-ear is much better but again, the supplied ear hooks have a very unusual shape that really isn't applicable for someone with average sized ears. If anyone is familiar with the Puro IEM-500, it's has a very similar design. If you have a fit problem with that, cable down, you'll probably have difficulty with the DN-2002. I won't go into SQ because that's so subjective and dependent on fit. Mine shipped with a pair of Comply, four pair of Spinfit, three pair of Silicone eartips (various sizes) a quarter inch adapter, shirt clip and a case.

Er that's a unusual case, have you tried the metal rings which can adjust the depth of ear-bud insertion, ear-hook can be another help, notice the correct way of wearing it, I really hope your can 100% enjoy the DN-2002 performance.

My box was sealed when I received them but there were no metal rings or any instructions indicating that there should be any.

DN-2002 didn't configured metal rings in the packaging because engineers thought it would be too long to fit the ear-channel when put on rings and Spinfit tips, but in your case I suggest you can have a try, DN-2002 has similar size conduit with DN-2000 series, I suppose that you have our DN-2000 or DN-2000J which has packed rings in the box, if not, I can manage to send you a pair.

Metal rings for DN2002?

er, I'm not sure yet, our people said it's not recommended but in some special case? we can give it a try.
