Really? I think it's too high. They usually go for around $100 used in ebay.de

Go for it! I think the older ones are preferred though.

Well, you could ask the seller from the link if he ships to the U.S. It's currently about $90 + shipping.

BTW, I mean the ones from the 80's.

I think the consumer version is better than the pro, but slightly inferior to the ones from the 80's. I forgot where I read that though, but they are $100 cheaper, so even if I'm wrong, he saves a nice chunk of money. They still will sound somewhat identical.

Speaking of this; are the DT770 Pros (80 Ohm) any good? And would they sound good amped a small bit with the Fiio E5? Would use them with my ipod nano. Listen to electronica, ambient, some jazz, some classical, rock... just about everything. I saw these for sale on the forums. If this is a bad choice, let me know.

I think you were speaking to me when you wrote this; thus, I sent you a PM, lutwey. I hope you don't mind. But if you are unable to respond then don't worry about it. I will continue researching. Sorry to impose... just anxious to finally be getting some entry-level phones that suit my needs (which I outlined in a thread that I probably posted in the wrong area).

The consumer edition of the DT770 has about 25% less bass then the Pro version. The consumer version is also much smoother sounding and not brash like the Pro version. I much prefer the Consumer one since it's bass isn't "wild" but rather controlled, quick, and integrated to the sound. It's all preference though.

Same applies to the DT880/DT990. The consumer one for each of those are far more balanced than the Pro's.
