Does anyone know how the mids of the stock HFI-780 compare to those of the 80ohm 770 Pros?

I've heard both though I still haven't figured out exactly what to look for as quality mids go so I can't say. FWIR the 780s don't have recessed mids while the Dt770s are quite recessed.

Yeah, I was hoping that they didn't have recessed mids :)

I owned the ALO-780, which are just the HFI-780 with a jena recable and internal mods and I can say the mids were extremely recessed, especially when compared to my Grado HF-2. They sounded wonderful up until my HF-2 arrived. Then, the tables turned and I couldn't stand the 780's

Sorry I must've been tired. What I mean't to say is that the 780s mids aren't as recessed as the DT770/80s. Sorry about that. My bad.

How is that even possible? The ALO-780 were like 90% bass-40% mids-90% highs

Oh come on! The HFI-780 are bass-light compared to the bass-heavy K701, HD600 and DT880...

The 780 are somewhat recessed when compared directly with some more forward sounding headphones which Grado most certainly are, they aren't however as recessed as DT770, HD600 etc.

Lol @ graph

Well, less recessed mids than the DT770s is a good thing for me :)

Also the HIFI-780's need atleast 300 hours to be burned in. They dont sound the same to what they used to sound at first use. Same goes for other ultrasone Models, they all need 300 hours. Also HFI-780's love being driven thru a headphone amp. Even tho they can be used without one.
