Does anyone know how to take apart a DT831? I have one dead side and I want to see if it's the cable or the driver but I can't see how to get them apart. I got one pad off but it was very difficult to do that and there's no way I'll get it back on the way it was.

those headphones come apart very easily. the pads are connected to a plastic snap in ring. use a dull knife or screwdriver to pry apart one side and just pull them off. everything else just sits in the cup. it should take you all of 10 seconds to completely disassemble a cup! instructions come in the box for this

i had an NOS doa dt831 recently

Cool, I was afraid to start prying. I've broken things before when I was over eager to take them apart.

You can contact beyerdynamic Inc. USA main office at 631-293-3200 and

Sorry about accidentally leading you to buy doa headphones. What ended up happening?
