Hey just wondering is driver size the only thing that matters for earbuds? Like if you have for example 7.2 mm drivers and then 8 mm drivers or 10 mm drivers are the 8mm and 10mm ones 100% better in sound quality or there is a possiblity the 7.2 mm ones sound better than the other ones regarding other factors?

without question, the most critical factor in the quality of a headphone is the driver implementation, AKA the skill of the headphone manufacturer.

personally though, I do find larger displacement drivers have higher enjoyment factor, even compared to other IEMs/buds that measure the same on a frequency chart. the higher displacement seems to give the sound a very pleasant unquantifiable quality.

a great example is the Sony EX1000, massive 16mm driver (over 2.5 times surface area of a 10mm). legendary IEM for great reason
