they are one of the service hubs for AKG.

sent my 701s in for repair, and had a invoice the day after Richard(Land, the company head) received them.

Very good prices, Richard is a great, downhome guy(he is a southern man, after all , so that is to be expected.

I had a horrible experience with Land Audio last year. I sent my K702s to be repaired under warranty and the guy placed the repair order wrong and kept my headphones for over a month. I kept calling and emailing him but he would not do anything more than tell me he was still waiting for the part. I ended up having to call AKG in California to figure out what was going on and they had to sort it out. Then after all the trouble, the Land Audio guy refused to overnight them to me but luckily AKG was kind enough to cover the shipping.

On top of that, he even repair them properly. I told him that the problem didn't apear to be one of the drivers but the enclosure itself and he just went ahead and replaced the driver. Not long after the headphones got back, the original problem came back and I just tossed them to the side. Now, almost a year later, they are at AKG in California being repaired again.

I had a horrible experience with Land Audio Services as well, and I wish I listened to the previous reviewer with all my heart.

Stay away for Land Audio Service at all cost!!! I was scammed and lured by a promise of a reasonably priced repair. Under $200 was the estimate. I sent pictures for a better estimate, and then I sent the actual mic to this person for a more precise estimate.

Without even attempting to contact me, this person went ahead and 'fixed" my mic WITHOUT giving me the precise estimate. If the work was in the range up to $200 as we discussed, this would not be a big issue. However, he wanted almost $800 to send the mic back to me. When I refused to pay the amount we HAVE NOT AGREED UPON (because I don't have that much either), he then said he would "break up my mic again" and send it back to me, but he wanted to charge me $240 for my broken mic back? I have all the email correspondence, as well as a recording of a phone conversation where he has informed me about the costs and his hostage "terms", probably thinking it would be without a record. A clever scam indeed.

Be your own judge and ask yourself: do I trust someone who has done this in the past? Estimated a repair to be up to $200, did not provide a precise estimate, and instead did "work" that was almost the price of a new mic and four times as much as the estimate he provided?

Nobody wants anyone to do any work for free. That is NOT the issue. The issue is that this person effectively stole my microphone by holding my mic a literal hostage. My only motive at this point is to warn other well meaning folks to stay away from this scam. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO THIS SCAMMER, YOU WILL REGRET IT.
