Hi all, have a few quick questions that have been bugging me...
This is my current setup: computer > FLAC + foobar2k + WASAPI (event) > Realtek digital output (Realtek ALC892 Audio Codec) > TOSLINK > Schiit Gungnir (balanced) > Schiit Mjolnir (balanced) > LCD-3 (balanced)
1. If I intend to keep using TOSLINK, will there be any benefit in getting a standalone sound card? Naturally I know the analog outs on a standalone sound card will be much better
2. Aside from getting a DTS receiver and playing back via above-mentioned chain DTS encoded files, is there any way to test via TOSLINK whether I have true bit-perfect output?
Thanks in advance for the help!
