I have the HTC One M8 (rooted with harman kardon edition installed)
 
I am using the 1964ears V3 custom IEMs and was wondering if I would benefit from getting a portable amp/dac combo and if it is worth the extra carry-on?
 
I hear these IEMs are fairly efficient and I would rather not carry around a Fiio E07k (for example) with my phone if it isn't needed. Although I did spend $500 on these and want them to reach their full potential.
 
Can I have your thoughts and help please?!

My v6 still sounds good out of my sansa clip. Sounds a little better on my dx90. I wouldn't expect a huge difference, but having more volume control is nice. I personally don't think it's worth it since you'd have to strap something on your phone which would make it a painful experience to use.

If you really feel like you have to spend money, you could get the fiio x3. Or sansa clip + fiio?

I already have the Sansa clip + Fiio e6 but I prefer the convience of having music on my phone and everything all-in-one.
 
Listening to music on this phone is no problem with its battery life. It is very good!
