Hello Head-Fi,

Do I need a headphone amp for my AKG K240 MKII's?

It is only connected to my Xonar DS Sound Card, when I play heavy (don't know how to word it, detailed, busy?) songs
the headphones sort of crap out on me and don't go too loud when I max out iTunes + Windows volume.

If so, I'm in Toronto and the only thing I can find so far is http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=35_766_777&item_id=029447
Has anyone heard anything good about these? I can't seem to find any legit reviews on them, and will these improve sound?

BTW, my headphones are 55ohms, thanks!

I saw a pretty negative review on it. How much are you willing to spend? what about a soundcard with integrated headamp?

I'm willing to spend under 100, something for my desktop, and I don't know what I should look for because my headphones are 55OHMS.

By the way, does anyone know where to buy headphone amps in Toronto?
(I know about Ring Audio)
