I'll give it a shot once I find a silver coin.

would you get better results from using a paper cone or something?

A fake?! It's genuine entertainment...

Maybe... It might work as an electrostatic speaker with a few thousand volts... Hence the need for the "insulation tape"...

The size and the fact that it has extra weight of that penny makes it a perfect fit for a mid bass driver! TADDDDA!

Now the real topic of this thread should be "what idiot wastes his time shooting that crap"...

I thought it was a video showing you how to build a Bose speaker.

No, this is a high-def version of their speakers.

I can't see how this would work. There's no circuit (no return for the current).

There are plenty of low cost speaker videos on YouTube though that do work. Anything involving a coil and a magnet can usually be made to work.

I'm all for DIY, but that seems like a waste of time. Especially when you can salvage so many real drivers for nothing, or pick up decent brand new ones for a few dollars at PE. HD, yeah right.........

I think I used a wrong coin.

See in Aussie, we dont have pennies, all our coins are either silver, or a goldish colour.

I managed to find a penny, but wasnt shiny, I was also using a cord from iBuds and using an iPod.

Any tips Fitz??
