What exactly is the difference between the two comparable offerings? Are the Alessandros essentially "modded" Grados? What do the MS1, MS2 and MS Pro compare to in the Grado lineup, and what makes them better/worse than their counterparts? Thx.

Basically

MS-1 = SR-80/125
MS-2 = SR-325i
MS-Pro = RS-1

where = means they're based on. Alessandros are more neutral than their Grado counter parts ie. Less coloration and less aggressiveness. I do recall reading somewhere that they are tweaked in such a way to make guitars sound more realistic, after all Alessandro do make guitar amps etc.

I've heared or owned all Alessandros and listened at least to the SR225 and the PS1. Allover, I'd say that the Alessandro's more neutral layout gives them a better musical bandwidth. With a Grado, you got to be a longhaired rockhead IMO.

Thanks guys!
How does the soundstage compare between the counterparts? I mean, are the Alessandros less forward, or anything like that?

yes they are less foward, and generally they have more sound stage

In respect of soundscape, I'd say it's a race between poverty and misery.

Alessandros are heavily modifyable in that respect though, just click on the MS1000 link in my sig.
