I was thinking of getting some eggos, but what's the difference between the models? Specifically the D66's and D77's? Thanks.

D77s I heard were naturally bassy and boomy, much like the d66 with bass mod, the d77 being unmodded. Other than that, I do not know anything else.

unless you want bass, i think youd be happy with the D66sl. i loved my pair. so detailed and clear.

One of the biggest differences between the two are that the D77 are out of production and are had to find, and can get quite expensive. You would probally be better of with the D66.

It's your computers. Check to see if the resolution is the same.

As for the eggos. I plan to own a pair some day. After the Sennheisers...and the ATH2002, or maybe the 3000's...oh and a pair of the 701's or 601's....

I had the D66s before I got my D77s, and I kept them both for a few days to compare. There is _not_ a huge difference between the two. It's not worth paying a big difference for the D77s unless you care about the rarity value (luckily, I didn't have to...). The main difference is that D77s have better bass; it's not, as I said, a huge difference, it's just a little more extended. They also have a very slightly more natural tone on e.g. acoustic guitar. And that's it. It took very careful listening for me to be sure I could hear the difference, I wouldn't be confident in identifying which I was listening to casually. A fellow head-fi'er bought my D66s (can't remember who, sorry) - when he came to pick them up I let him compare the D77s and D66s, and he agreed with my assessment. If you have to get the D66s, don't lose any sleep over what you missed out on.
