That's to bad you have to use the reissue, not the same as the original.

Seems like when the WE300B is compared to other 300B's, the reissue is always used.

I would like to try the original WE300B too , if you find a good one please let me know
I am looking for one good pair but the price is high and I am not good enough to know that it is the
real original one or not
I will try to sell several of my headphones to afford for one pair.

There is a member in another forum who states that his friend owns both the original WE 300B and the re issue WE 300B.
In his friends amp the "current" WE 300b sounded best. His amp is also incredibly transparent as far as 300b amps go.

Well I think the reissue is used a lot because its pretty darned hard to find WE300B originals, you are a fortunate one sillysally and I am rather jealous.

I stopped looking now because I hit walls everywhere and I really can't afford the prices that trustworthy sellers are asking.

Yes in deed I got very lucky, not only did I get the real thing but at a good price.

I have looked with others that want the Original 300B's and ask for help in this matter, but all we found was one scam after another.

A lot of scam, cannot be to careful.
It's not easy to find a genuine pair.

Personally, I would hold the horses until the new production will starting up. The MSRP price of them was USD1200, which eded up around USD 900 a pair, I believe, so, lets see what the new will be. With all respect to WE, but the price is crazy, however, you get clear warranty and 40.000 hours of use with it, so, you know what you are paying for and thats my liking.
By the way, I got the answer from WE, finally, and they are hoping to restart around end of this year, at least they are trying to do so, which is great news...

Yeah, I had asked them as well, I got the same answer about 3 weeks ago.  I can go for 900 a pair.

Where is the new production based?

I think they went to Tennessee.  (I am not sure about this, but I think thats what I had heard.)

I sent the question directly to Western Electric, lets see if they answer it.

I got a response from WE, stating that they will be US made.  Either Tennessee or Georgia.

Wow, thats unfortunate the WE prices have gone up. I paid about $750 for a pair new and matched a few recent years ago. The cheaper brands are fine options too.
