I'm hoping for the same form the A100's.  We'll all soon see.

Solid review.  Makes me think about the D2000 more than I have.  I thought my search for a headphone with good bass was narrowed down to the DT990 and the Pro 900, but now I'm looking at the D2000 again.

If you do keep the D1100, I'd be very interested to know if the bass tames down at all through burn-in. Bass seems to be one of the most common changes with burn-in.

Awesome Awesome review!!!! Everything you said about the 1100's is spot on! I have been wearing these almost everyday to work, playing video games etc. It's true with the EQ setting i have it set up perfectly and it sounds great! The 50mm as opposed to the 40mm drivers drives more bass. I feel after awhile the 1100's mids come more alive and highs are much smoother. I love these headphones best purchase i made in regards of headphones! Can't wait for your review on the a100's! Oya on the cups the denon plate is aluminum!

Great review! Thank you so much. I've got a question. Sorry if it's a silly one but I'm totally new at this stuff. Did you hear a great difference between D1100 flac and mp3?
Do you need batteries for them?

Excellent review.  I have only the D2000, but have tried out all three.  At first I thought the 2000 were a bit shrill and had a fair amount of sibilance, but I no longer feel that way.  Whether that's due to burn-in, or me just getting used to it, no one will ever know...

Thats your opinion on the D2000. But do you feel the same way as ajreynol about the other two denons?

I have the d2000 and as well it noticeably improved with burn-in time.

Nice write up, OP.

I still really want the D5000! Hell, I'm not even interested in their sound signature from what I've read on these forums and seen on the FR graph, but I really like their wooden cups. I think wooden cups look so stylish, but sonically, I'm way too happy with my HD650 to even want to consider dropping $400+ on some sexy paper weights.

I saw a set of D7000 cups for sale on the SF forum the other day.

As sexy as those cups are, ideally, I'd like them to be attached to some sort of headphone.

Besides, I don't want to be the weird guy with a random pair of wooden cups just sitting there next to my amplifier.

Nothing but the usually diffrences you get when going from mp3 to FLAC: everything gets crisper and fuller.

No batteries required.
