Sorry for the noob-ish question...  I have been away from head-porta-fi for a while.
 
Is there a player that behaves just like an ipod, in that it plugs into USB and integrates seamlessly with iTunes and plays apple lossless?

Not that I know of. Though years ago there used to be a few that did.

that is probably as far as it goes though
AK100 do play alac but it doesn't sync with itunes
