You can use HQ Player within windows, and if you replace the OP AMPs of the AE-9 with sparkos then you will get an amazing sound.

ae9 is fine i am sure of it, just there is no reason not to use desktop equipment when it is there

I own this card for 3 years now and use it for headphone listening music mostly. I pair it with denon d9200 and it sounds fantastic. Bass is deep and highs are sparkling. Lots of energy and background is dark. It sounds better than my cambridge audio cxa60.
