Someone sent me a direct email asking about how to identify capacitors with class X or Y rating, suitable for use in a ground loop breaker. I accidentally deleted the mail and thus cannot reply directly, so I'll answer here.
These are high voltage polyester film type, but are usually listed as "suppression capacitors". The datasheet will state that they are X or Y rated, suitable for "across the line" use (referring to the AC mains). Examples of these are Cornell Dubilier 158X series (Mouser 539-158X104) or Panasonic ECQ-UG series (Digi-Key P11116-ND).
