Changing first name

If you haven't been naturalized yet, you may want to do that and get your name changed at the same time. I don't think there's an additional fee for name change if you do it as part of the naturalization process (which is what I did back in '88).

I thought about going with an Anglo name, but I decided just to fix the spelling of my name to make it more phonetic.

I legally changed my name to win a radio contest and the total cost was 200.00 to my local county courthouse, paid for by the station. They even paid for me to have it changed back the next week.
