anyone have a pair of 3ks with pics? What amp do you use with them? Ive heard nothing but good stuff about them and am wondering how they compare to Senn,Beyer,Grado,AKG?

i don't have any pics, but i think the CD3000's are better than the Senns and Beyers i've heard. i wouldn't call them better than the corespondant Grado's, but they are in the same league. i love the sound of the CD3000's out of my HA-1 MK II.

i'm assuming you mean price when you say "how much are thye average 250?". they are about $400, new. i find the bass to be very good, but some people (bassheads, in my opinion) want more. the bass has very good extension and is tight and balanced with the rest of the sound signature.

Ive had the CD3000's for a brief period of time...I didn't like them that much, mainly because of how bright they were with my past rig at the time.

Like the many others have stated, you really need good synergy with your amp/source to get the great sound the CD3000's are known for...otherwise, they may be too bright and harsh.

I absolutely love my CD3000. I am powering it with a maxed out PPA (JMT Special Edition) and the results are simply wonderful. Not too bright, but incredibly detailed in the entire spectrum of sound. They also have an expansive sound stage.

As for the bass, it has some of the best bass attack/decay I have ever heard. It may not be packing as much bass as bassheads would like (although it's perfect with the bass boost on my ppa) but it is awesome in my own mind.

Edit: You can get them for 350 or so new, and around 300 lightly used.

Hi,

you can find TONS of pics (even high-res PO*N

) here:

This is IMO the most complete CD3000 collection available - you can also find a PDF of the original service manual, among other gems by dedicated CD3K maniacs like Sovkiller....

Cheers

Chisum

P.S.: CD3K's RULE!

Did anybody notice that in those pics the jacket of the plug is black? Mine (both) and all what I have seen are silver, or is that the owner painted it????
