Meridian 500 series are great transports. Some have problems with cdrs, but it has to do with alignment that can be fixed by Meridian. Mine palys %80 of cds, but I think there is a problem with the lens and its alignment. I have not heard any issues with the 508, I have a 506.

one of the good thing about DAC2 is that it is less sensitive to transport used.
Sure you can hear the differences amongst various transports still, but, it's not that big of a deal if you don't use an uber transport.
Hell, it sounds fine even with my Yamaha burner.
OTOH.. Shigaraki DAC is a different story... I know someone how uses expensive transport with it and I see why..
