Hey so what's the best way to get the raw uncompressed audio from a cd using a program for that? Is setting the software to make uncompressed wav files enough to get 100% the sound quality that's on the cd? Or is there a more advanced way? I know that cda files won't play anything since they are only shortcuts or am I wrong? What is the best way to extract the cd? With the original quality without any loss of audio quality?

Converting them to a WAV file will be bit-perfect to the CD. The issue with WAV is you cannot save any info within the file to allow you to know what it is. I got around this early when I ripped all my cd's to my pc by how I named the files. I then started using music monkey to manage the library. It could keep track of the WAV files and the details associated with them. I have since converted everything to FLAC, FLAC is also bit-perfect, and it allows you to save info within the file (like an MP3). This allows me to use multiple PC software and also have my music managed on my portables. FLAC is also about 60% the size of WAV, so it saves storage space if this is a concern.

I'd suggest just using EAC (Exact Audio Copy) to rip to FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)

There are guides online to set it up correctly

https://captainrookie.com/how-to-setup-exact-audio-copy-for-flac-ripping/

and how to do the actual rip

You could just use EAC to rip to WAV if you really want uncompressed, but there's no real advantage over FLAC, they're both bit-perfect. You'll want to use EAC (properly set up) to reduce the chance or errors either way

or simply use foobar2000, which is also a music player. you can rip to wav or flac (or other formats) and there is a completion log which will tell you if there were any errors during the process. i have been using foobar2000 for years. it is a great program.
