Hi! Tell me please how to connect the C5DAC to iphone 5s? What I need? Can I use a cable from C6? And what music app I should use?

If you want to use C5DAC's DAC functionality, you need a Lightning Camera Connection Kit (CCK). No special music apps are needed unless you want to load and play FLAC or hi-res files.

You can either get a cheap, 3rd-party one off eBay for a few bucks - like this: LINK.

Or the official Apple one from Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, etc. for $29: LINK.

I purchased the official one because I've read about some 3rd-party CCK not working after iOS updates. YMMV.

Thanks! Today I treid a OPPO HA-2 with my Sennheiser HD650 and there was a low volume (( Sure I use a high gain. What about C5?

Don't have HD650, but C5 drove my HE-400 planars to insanely loud levels. Have you read over the C5 and C5DAC reviews?

HD650 has an impedance 300 Om and HE-400 only 35 Om...

C5DAC drives Audio Technica R70x (470 ohm) very well. Have had HD650, and found that an amp able to drive one will typically drive the other equally well.

Yeah I've been actually kinda blown away by this little gear last couple of days.. I have the HD-800 which is a 300 ohm headphone and the C5 drives it and my Audeze LCD2 (which is 70 ohm, but current hungry) with aplomb. Neither requires the high gain setting... If anything, the gain switch may be a little too much for anything short of the HE6.

To say its availed itself well against the iFi iDSD and the ALO Continental would be an understatement.
Each of the others does certain things better, but its the only portable unit I've ever used that I would be comfortable tethering to the HD800 on a daily basis.

I've always thought the HD800 was strictly desktop stuff and the portable game was a no-go... Crazy!

ok. It was manufacturing defects. Tried another HA-2 and everything is ok.

Hey guys, there's already been lots of other great reviews for the C5DAC, but I just finished mine and wanted to share: http://www.head-fi.org/products/cayin-spark-c5-dac-portable-usb-dac-headphone-amplifier/reviews/13882

Not sure if it's a literary masterpiece or even adds anything to what others have written, but hopefully it helps somebody in their buying decision!
