Been listening to alot of Plastikman lately, more specifically "Closer" which I believe is pure genius. There is no other music that I own that puts me in a trance like some deep, dark, minimal Techno.

I own everything released by Plastikman/Richie Hawtin; does anyone compare or produce anything remotely similar?

you gotto hear Monolake!

then some:
Autechre - Tri Repetae (1995)
Rod Modell - Vibrasound (2004)
Marc Leclair - Musique Pour 3 Femmes Enceintes (2005)
Kraftwerk - Tour De France Soundtracks (2003)
Bass Communion vs. Muslimgauze - s/t (2000)
Triola - Im Fünftonraum (2004)

but get MONOLAKE first!! before I'm gettin all fanboy noise over it

thanx for the reply buddy!
been waitin on an answer for a whiles now...
Stoked, havent heard of most of these...already own nearly everything Kraftwerks ever done and I own some Autechre as well. The latter is more experimental ala Aphex Twin rather than Hawtin, but good nontheless.\
Cant wait to hear Monolake!

My fav's in the genre are

Gas: Zauberberg
Vladislav Delay: Multila

These albums were recommended to me by Scrypt a while back and have grown more and more on me over time. A search for those threads would be a good thing to do.

The Junior Boys are a favourite of mine, very minimal, but a lot of vocals, not sure if that is what you are going for.

A lot like a minimal Postal Service.

Its hard to tell if this will be your thing or not but Amon Tobin's first two albums; Bricolage and Permutation my really be up your ally. I'd give them a demo on amazon or by more dubious meens before you buy. Technicly his music isn't techno, he uses samples of real instraments spliced together to make his beats and loops. The result however is amazing and to me some of the best music I"ve heard.

just picked up the new Total 10 kompakt compilation

haven't heard any since 6 because reviews have been luke warm but was told this one stands out by a guy I trust
recommendation holds!

sick so far, and only heard first 5 tracks keep getting stuck and have to re listen. DJ Koze always a favorite, the title track and then the Gui Boratto remix are so good. and I don't even like Gui Boratto!

also saw someone mentioned MONOLAKE earlier in this old thread. Monolake is really good too.

now how long will it take for virometal to show up...

Material from Uwe Schmidt is purely genius as well. Some of it counts as minimalistic techno, some just playing with this kind of toys (In a coherent matter, I can assure you
