So I sold off the IE7's and my IE6's are in shambles and I'm looking something that does right what those past 2 did wrong(fit for the IE7's, build quality for the IE6's).
 
I have about $100 in the paypal(but if I really have to stretch it I can) and have done some reading around and as of now my list is:
MEElectronics M6's
Head-Direct RE-0's
Soundmagic PL50's
Cyclone PR2's
Atrio M5/m8's(used?)
 
I'm into mostly metal/hard rock and some rap.  I liked the sound signature that the IE6's have.
 
If there's any other suggestions out there I'd appreciate them.

 I certainly don't recommend re0 with rap. Maybe you want to add Image S4 to your list since it is very comfortable and the build quality is very good. It is light like feature so I dont even feel anything when I am wearing them. And since you listen to rap, their impactful bass should be definitely a positive.

I mention rap last...because it's like 5-10% of my collection and probably not changing...
Can you wear the RE-0's over the ear? That's how I've worn the IE6/7's, and I prefer it.

What about the Fischer Audio Eterna's? It goes over the ear and I have been reading nothing but good things about them. I plan on getting them as soon as they are in back in stock. They go for around $65.
