Hey guys,

So I'm moving into a studio apt in a few months and have about 4-500 dollars to spend on home theatre and I am very confused by all the choices that I have in setting up a home theatre system.

My needs are basically this.  I need a receiver that will connect to my flat screen and my blue ray player and will allow for me to stream music from my macbook.  I'd also like to couple this with some nice speakers either standing towers speakers with built in subs or a surround sound system.

Can anyone give me some recommendations that are best bang for your buck?

I've been a fan of Yamaha AV receivers for a long time. Seems this will fit your needs well, except it hasn't been released yet. Can't find a release date, but I doubt you'll be able to better for this price. Hope this helps

I like Yamaha AV receivers because they come with surround sound (Silent Cinema) for headphones.
The website Techbargins usually lists stuff that is currently on sale.
Bountii is good for finding the best price on something, if you already know what make and model your looking for.

A used Yamaha receiver that is no more then 2 or 3 years old will do the job for you.
