My current rig is the Little Dot Mk III+ paired with Grado RS-2i cans. Yet recently I have read that output impedance will matter to the headphones being driven, so I'm already wondering if the Little Dot is what I need for these. I like the sound of the tubes I installed (Mullard CV4010), but I have no other amp to compare to.
Assuming that I "Grado Up" to the GS1000's, or go for the other phones on my wish list, HD-598's, is there a one-size-fits-all amp for all these low-impedance cans (and how important is the damping factor here)?
Additionally, in case anyone's wondering, I will either be on a budget ($300 max) or will have to wait a bit to get the "right one".
