i have been researching and researching and cannot find anything on a good DAC/Amp for edm so i really need some help. I love nice tight thumping sub bass and clear mid bass that does extend into the mids, with warm mids and highs (Sorry I lack the vocabulary to properly explain what I want, haha). It will need to be compatible with my 7th generation ipod classic and compatible with a CD player. I will be using Ultrasone HFI-580 headphones with it. I can spend up to $500 on the whole thing. All my audio files are either 256 AAC, 320 MP3 or lossless. I really appreciate anybody that helps because I'm very interested and moved by Hi-Fi and really wanting to get a higher quality setup then my portable rig. Thank you!

No DAC is going to give you "thumping bass". That's a quality of the headphone, first and foremost. Headphone color > amp > DAC. I would recommend what's in my avatar; an RME Babyface. Awesome hardware EQ, extremely clean DAC, but over your price.
