With the Solaris 2020, I've landed on the DHC Clone Fusion. It's my favorite pairing of the three cables I've tried with it (the other two are the included super smoky litz and SXC-8). I find that the Clone Fusion slightly elevates and tightens both the sub-bass and mid-bass, slightly brings mids/vocals more forward, and smooths out the treble just to my liking. Plus, the look and feel of the cable are excellent.

As I only have the stock super litz and the Alo Gold16 to compare. I can tell that the Gold16 is a big step up from the stock. Feel taking the sound out of a cage. Better bass, wider mids and more detailed highs.

May others have other experiences to share.

More body and stage, slightly more sub-bass rumble.
Having said that, it's a somewhat stiff cable, so the super smoky litz wins on ergonomics.

Yeah, I remember you mentioned that, totally fair point. I think it broght me what I was looking for. I liked the reult a lot, it's actually strange go back to the sotck cable.

No doubt amp 8 EX if you can get it. But Solaris pairs excellent with the stock amp as well as Amp 9 if you listen at a bit louder volume so not to hear the hissing.

Thanks. Volume won't be an issue, I like it loud. But I'm a bit concerned about having to keep swapping cables. I have 2.5 and 3.5 super litz, and I assume the 2.5 will generally sound better than 3.5 on the stock amp (won't know for sure until the DX220 arrives next week), but I'd need to grab a 4.4 for the amp8. I've heard great things about amp7 too. Do you have a cable rec for the amp8?
