The left side driver of my HD650 failed a few days back.
Fortunately Sennheiser is one of the few top teir headphone manufacturers officially available in India and they have a spare driver is stock. (Approx $66 with 2 years warranty).
Now I have used the HD650 for more than 2 years now and the right side driver must have properly burnt in by now.
So, my question is, if burn-in exists (I believe in it btw), would the sound of the new left driver sound different from my right driver ? Would such a scenario more or less show burn-in exists for the HD650 and conversely if there was no perceptable difference in sound disprove burn-in ?
Anyones thoughts on the above ?
Appologies in advance if such a test was carried out before. In my defense I did try the search function but did not find anything.
