It's already Basho time! Kotooshu made Ozeki, but lost on the first day! (He did recover on Day 2).
Asashoryu has lost on Day 2--this has happened very rarely on his remarkable run over the past two years...it'll be interesting to see what happens.

(BTW: did anyone catch the amateur tournament on ESPN?)

OK, so Asashoryu wasn't feeling so well this time and dropped four bouts. Tochiazuma won the yusho suffering only one loss--this was important since he was kabodan and would have been demoted from Ozeki had he absorbed a loosing record.
Hakuho contines to do well and could conceivably get promoted to Ozeki after the March basho. The Mongolians are threatening to take over!
