Smokin' on Football Sunday, nothing finer!

Meatloaf components: ground beef, ground pork, sausage, cheese, various spices. (Rolling rock beer, chocolate bars, pocky, and chocolate covered edamame not included)

Flattened out the ground beef and sprinkled with spices and grated parmasean cheese

Delicious looking heart attack in a roll, baby. Should have used more cheese, and should have refridgerated it a while so that the meat stuck together more. Otherwise, super yummy, nice smoke ring.

I have the Medium Egg, and in retrospect, maybe I should have gotten the Large. The Medium is good for most cooking gigs, but it can only fit two 7 lb pork butts or three chickens.

At the time, the Medium's price was hard enough to swallow, and so the large was just a non-starter. All in all, though, it's worth every penny. Best BBQ tool I've ever owned. I should have bought it years ago.

And it's superior to high heat grilling and low-n-slow smoking to any other apperatus I've ever owned, save for my infrared searing burner.

The BGE has three main strengths:

1) Heat retention - the 1" thick ceramic holds and radiates heat
2) Temp control - You can precisely dial in temps from 200F to 750F
3) High heat searing - Take it up past 700F for pizza or searing steaks

The only requirement is that you MUST use good quality hardwood lump and not crap Kingsford briquettes. Hardwood charcoal burns hotter, longer, cleaner, and with less ash. I didn't think quality of fuel made any difference worth a damn until I owned one of these things.

It's directly akin to getting a high-end headphone amp. Just get one, and you'll know.

This meatloaf is fine for carnivores like me. I am a culinary professional and find nothing wrong with it. Can't wait to try it!
