With Beyer changing the velour earpads from its DT880/990 series to the microfiber earpads in the T1/T90, do you think it is an improvement or a step back?
 
Which do you think is more comfortable and more suitable for long time listening?

Personally I find the velour pads are softer but after prolong usage its easier to get squashed and mushy. If its squashed too much the ears will also touch the membranes of the cans. The microfiber feels rougher but kind of have a "fresher" feel I guess.
