I'm not going to pounce on this new revision yet; I'll definitely want to audition it first. I'm liking the design, but that's certainly not enough of a pull to upgrade from the 2nd Generation model. Let's wait and see.If you are really happy with your 2nd gen, why buy this new version? It will be expensive at first and you might not like some of the changes (if any) that they made to the signature.

I'm happy with my T5p...but if it should die on me one day it's good to know that there is a newer option out there. I also like the new design. I do wish they had put "T5p" on the yoke as they did on the previous models.

I was really excited to see this, thinking prices might drop on the Gen 2s, but I noticed all the usual sites I use are out of stock...
Still excited for these, though; I'm a sucker for Beyerdynamics.

That etched "T5p" is classy, indeed. However, I'm really digging the understated look of the 3rd Generation T5p. Here's to hoping that it'll sound like an overall refinement of its famed signature.I'm happy with my T5p...but if it should die on me one day it's good to know that there is a newer option out there. To fans of the existing T5p (2nd Gen), what are you hoping to hear in this new revision?

Can anyone tell if these look like new, different pads?
They look the same to me, though. As far as pads go, the stock ones are pretty decent, at least on my T5p (2nd Gen). Can anyone tell if these look like new, different pads?
By the way, I hope that this was a typo -
A 4m cable! That's.. long.

I prefer it over the T1 cable though

I ditched my 3m cables for my Amiron Home and used the Meze 99's cable. Much better. I guess I'll order them again. No way I'm using that 4m cable!By the way, I hope that this was a typo -

Well, seeing that we're always complaining about the stock cables, Beyer probably said, 'To hell with it!', and promptly removed the cable from the T1's packaging, and fused the original 2m cable with the T5p's own to form the 4m version.I prefer it over the T1 cable though

I highly doubt Beyer will include 4m cable. I mean, think about it, that's way too long! Most of us will probably will complain about too and more waste will build up.
Yeah, I'm sure that the information stated there was a typo. Typically, if more than 1 cable is included within the package, the "long" cables are 2m to 3m in length, and the shorter one, 1.2m to 1.5m long.I highly doubt Beyer will include 4m cable. The 2.gen cables:
T1: 3.0m
T5: 1.4m
I would actually be surprised if they changed the cables at all. All stuff beyerdynamic lives forever. In one of the other topics it was noted that the pads must be different because of memory foam! On the actual official Beyerdynamic site it states that T1 2.gen pads have ... and here it comes ... memory foam!

I guess the writer was way too excited he/she didn't even check the post lol. It's indeed 1.4m, it has to be.Yeah, I'm sure that the information stated there was a typo.
