All the older headphone designs that are still in productions are just excellent, DT150, HD25, CD900ST and the STAX Lamda. All plasticy and infinitely serviceable.
1960 !
Are you sure about that ? Always thought of the DT100 of as a classic 70s phone used by my favouite band Pink Floyd, amongst others and yes I was around then,
i had a DT250 for almost a decade, but i was a noob "headfoner" then,
just plugged it into my old cdplayer n listened to it.
V curious how this DT250 will measure up to the dt150 now ..
i presume the DT250 is a latter model, n an improvement of sorts?
I'm in the club now. My brand new pair sound great. A tad too much midbass reverb but hopefully that will go away if I keep exercising the drivers.
I had to open it and switch the stereo connections. Right sided cable makes me confused. So now they are left side plugged. I turned the buttoned headband padding too just to feel more authorized
Sound signature is similar to my Mr Speakers Mad Dogs. If you like the Mad Dogs you'll probably like DT 150 too.
at times i tot my DT150/DT100velor is a closed version of the hd600...kinda. (off my sonic memory)
Ah I see, haven't really heard the DT 150 with the DT 100 velours. I have to adjust to the HD 600s sound and let it burn-in. The HD 600 seems a bit veiled with the stock cable. I've been switching to and from a cardas cable I held onto from my HD 545 and the veil is gone and the dynamics have more bite.
+1 on that Cardas.
Ah I see, haven't really heard the DT 150 with the DT 100 velours. I have to adjust to the HD 600s sound and let it burn-in. The HD 600 seems a bit veiled, though it could simply because I'm so used to AKGs and Beyers and the fact it's brand new. I've been switching to and from a cardas cable and it seems to make a difference in clarity, have to test it more.
Pretty sure its the opposite , you might be used to the accentuated highs on AKGs , although the 712s are dark ?
I find the 600s to extend very well , coming from crazy bright headphones I never described the 600s as veiled , sure I might for the 650s but never for the 600s , they extend and resolve very well .
I am used to brighter headphones than the HD 600. The K712's are not dark sounding, especially considering the forward upper midrange and lower-mid treble of them. Anyways I'm more used to the DT 150's sound right now than the K712's. I don't find the HD 600 veiled now after adjusting to their sound. The thing is the HD 600 is the darkest and warmest headphone I've owned in a while, so it doesn't surprise me they came off as veiled at first. I noticed they extend and resolve very well and they are really growing on me after spending more time with them.
