Revealed today in Beijing, the new headphone, called T5p, will be 32 ohm, with tesla technique. The price tag will be USD 1000.

That is  a surprise really, but I guess it might because Chinese market grows biger and biger and become very important to the companies.

Because they have an expanding upper middle class and they buying out the worlds precious metals.  San Francisco has better Chinese food so that isn't a reason.

They cost the same as the T1's, makes me think its a tuned, closed version of the T1.

The 32 ohms do worry me though. The best beyer's I've heard have always had the 600 ohm drivers.

I'd hope the 'portable' version isn't going to be the only one available, but I'd find it odd if there was a 600ohm version and they didn't announce it here too.
 
Who wants to carry around $1000 headphones where they can be damaged or stolen? Not me.
