Hi all, currently my PC rig is hooked into an old Beresford DAC and with that I drive a pair of Beyer DT250 80ohm. They are very good headphones I feel, but you know, sometimes you fancy a change. I've been mulling over a swap to some DT770 250 ohms for a change.

In the past, I've had the old version of the DT770, DT880 and DT990 as well as a pair of DT931s, but it was a LONG time ago, so my memory of how these sound is not all that reliable. What I do remember though, is the plush earpads that these models had which made them more comfortable than the DT250 I have now.

I remember the DT770 being fairly bassy. I am wondering if anyone here has had a chance to compare these headphones; I would be interested in hearing your views on how they compare.

I will be using them for gaming, movies, TV and my music is usually 80s, 90s, dance, trance, indie, rock and ambient.

Are there any other contenders I should consider?

They do need to be closed as they're being used in the same room as other half.
