I'm in the market for a DAC, and I'm gonna use the USB as input, and I narrowed down to the Lavry -11 or Wyred DAC-2 . I've read a

thread here that related to same question and the person who started that thread seems end up with Lavry da10. So I wonder in

terms of USB input which one is better. I knew that wyred offer rather neutral sound. But I kinda wanna more fun in the music.

The 6moon seems didn't give much credit to the DA11 usb though...

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Best

can't speak for the wyred, but the DA11's usb input is equal to its coaxial input - that is to say, the usb is in no way compromised

Really? So there is no problem with the USB input on Lavry DA11?

I know every one has their own preference It just worried me that 6moon give pretty bad comment on the USB...... here is the link

A good (async) USB implementation should be better than coax (except maybe if the coax is fed by a TOTL transport). One of the first and best async USB implementations is StreamLength. Besides in WaveLength Audio's own USB DACs, it can be also found in Ayre QB9, Grace m903, and also USB->SPDIF converters like ART Legato and Halide Bridge.

Don't know what DAC you are using now or have used, or what your preferences are. I'm not a fan of the DA10. It was a bit dark, not "fun."

USB is going to be the way of the DAC future imo, coax has impedance problems and toslink has attenuation and reflection issues. Of course implementation is what really matters but USB has great potential imo.

Wyred offers the Asy-usb on the DAC-2, and what's TOTL?
