To get the highest quality rip, are you supposed to use a program called exact audio copy? http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/resources/download/

Assuming you have a hard drive....
.....eac and dbpoweramp are probably the best 2 software for ripping on a pc. If the cd's are in good condition, itunes, jriver, etc will do a good job with there error correction turned on. Of course none of it matters if you are ripping to mp3.

eac looks like a hassle to use, dbpoweramp is easier to use for ripping right?

I always liked dbpoweramp over eac. It seemed easier to use and also has a lot of options you can tweak if you want.
