Hello again everyone.

I have been looking into some options for new headphones to replace my Alessandro MS1's. I have narrowed my choices down to either:

The HiFiMAN HE300

or

the Audio-Technica ATH-AD900x

Noting that either will be sold to me for the same price (250 US), I will be using these unamped from an ipod classic, and that I am seeking a sound signature closer to my prior headphones (Alessandro ms1's), what is my best option?

Thank you.

A new option has arisen in the form of the form of the Beyer Dynamic DT 990 Premium 32 OHM model.

So, I guess my choices are now

the HiFiMAN HE300 or the Audio-Technica ATH-AD900x or the Beyer Dynamic DT 990 Premium 32 OHM.

Any thoughts?

I guess amping is not an option for you?  But I tell you it does make a world of difference even with easy to drive HP's

what kind of sound signature were you going for?
