Hi all, ive been thinking of getting some new phones for my portable (imp-550), i have been thinking about e3s but then some people say they sound too flat with no bass and recessed highs and the er4 having no bass etc... and i love my HD 600 sound so what would be the best upgrade for 270$ as a maximum?

I was thinking of just getting some mx400s for my imp but if they are the same fit as the mx 300s then i cant see the point, the right earbud NEVER stays in yet the left does...i thought our ears were symmetrical?!

Anyway, i would be grateful for any help.

If it's just for portable use: get a pair of Sennheiser HD 25 for 120$ (used to be 200$) and use the 150$ on your home equipment or music

Just my opinion on this

Everyone seems wedded to the idea that HD 25's cost $120... I haven't seen a reputable retailer offering them for less than $160, which is still not a bad price at all. For $120, I'd already have them

Senn HD 25-1's are AWESOME with portables. Buy them used. I got mine for $75. I've seen them go used for $125.
