What is the best price for a brand new Stax Omega II?
I do not care to know where this price is attained from...

I am just trying to win a bet with my friend!

Thank you in advance,

~$1490 that I can easily confirm online

~$1300 at a store that doesn't post the price online so would need to contact them for a quote. the price might have been ~$1200... but I can't remember exactly the price I saw when I went to the store a few months ago.

Are you sure about that? The Signature II series (SR-4040) can be had for that price, but the Omega II's are up in the $6K range (retail) or so I have read. The lowest price I found, after a quick internet search, was around $4K. Are you talking about just the cans or the system?

If the Omega II's can be purchased for under $1500 new, please PM me with the name of the seller. I'm all over it!

Guys:

I just checked Audiocubes and the headphones are $1849, but the amp is another $2999!!! the total system price is approaches $5,000! I thought the original poster asked about the Omega II system, not just the cans.

Again, if the complete STAX Omega II rig can be bought new for under $2000, I haven't seen any evidence of it -- but would like to...

You misread. The $2999 price is Omega II + SRM-007t Tube Amp.

what is this Omega II system you guys talk about? go check out STAX's site and you'll see that no such system exists.

I think they are referring to Stax Omega II System as Earspeaker "plus" Energiser:
1) Tube Version: SR-007 and SRM-007t
2) Solid State Version: SR-007 and SRM-717

I don't think this is a Stax deal (e.g. Signature System II, Classic System II etc.,) but more likely a vendor (e.g. Simply Stax) packaging.

P.S. SRM-717 $1199; Stax SR-007 (OmegaII) with SRM-717 $2899 - @Audio Cubes.

exactly my point. the vendors sometimes use the Omega II name to advertise whole setups, but STAX doesn't do that therefore you end up with various "Omega II systems." I could as easily pair up the Omega II with the SRM-212 and sell that as an "Omega II system."

I get it now. Thanks.

The Stax Omega II is just the SR-007 earspeaker; but, if you combine it with either the SR-717 or SR-007t, then the combo price is just shy of $3,000.

If anyone knows of a place where the COMBO can be had for under $2K, I'd be seriously tempted.

And so would everyone else and their mother...assuming you're talking new of course.

other than buying used or from a store with a very generous sale, I doubt you can get the SR-007 with either the SRM-717 or SRM-007t for under $2k for the pair. under $2.5k seems like a pretty reasonable estimate for the lowest price for the O2 and one of the amps.

if you haven't guessed already... the prices I'm quoting are from stores within japan. BANGPOD said that he doesn't care where I get the prices from.

How much would the O2 be from EIFL with shipping?
Is it safe to say $1600? $1500 + shipping/insurance?

I might be able to coerce my parents into this one...!
