Post what you think is the single best song by each of some of the artists or bands that you listen to. I'm hoping this can help me and others discover some new good music without sifting through a bunch of crap. Yeah i know, lazy me. I'll start:

Cypress Hill - Insane in the Brain
Air - People in the city
Groover Armada - At the River
Oasis - D'You Know What I Mean?
Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 1 Mvt. 2
Falco - Rock Me Amadeus
Bran Van 3000 - House Lights
The Beatles - I am the Walrus
Everlast - Sad Girl
The Pixies - I bleed
Fatboy Slim - Brimful of Asha
Duran Duran - Come Undone
David Bowie - Space Oddity
Bob Dylan - Lay Lady Lay
Guns n Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

Say whaaaat?

You picked D' You Know What I mean over Turn Up The Sun, Don't Look Back in Anger, or the Importance of Being Idle? You must be smokin' crack (teasing).

I also prefer: Monkey Gone To Heaven, Where Is My Mind, or heck..even Dig For Fire over I Bleed. No accounting for taste, eh?

As for Duran Duran...I gotta go with Save A Prayer or perhaps Ordinary World.

Space Oddity is cool, though. There is a well-done cover of it here:

(first song on the playlist)

Here are 10 artist favs...there is a LOT of diversity here too!

Marilyn Manson - Coma White

If you are a Beatles fan, you should really check this out:

Playing The Beatles Backwards: The Ultimate Countdown | JamsBio Magazine

Basically, this guy lists his favorite 185 Beatles songs. However, instead of just providing a numerical list, he writes in depth about why he made those selections. One of the most extensive musical commentaries I have seen on the web about the Beatles.

You can also see the full list here:

lol that's a horrible cover imo

. There's a better one sung by a woman, heard it in this car commercial here in Canada. Infinity or something, can't remember.

Oasis has so many good songs that if you like their genre of music it's very hard to pick out a single one as the best. Same with Garbage.

This thread has the makings of a digital Battle Royale, but I will hop in the ring.
Megadeth - Tornado of Souls
Mos Def - Champion Requiem
Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers - Free For All
Way too many toss ups out there, good luck.

Hmmm interesting. I like the Space Oddity cover I linked to just because I think it conveys the sense of isolation and alienation that the song requires. If you don't like the vocalists vocal style, though (or think it is overwrought -which I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking) it probably wouldn't do much for you.

Anyway...I agree about Oasis and Garbage. I was just giving you a bit of a hard time and attempting to point out some of my own personal faves.
