Which manufacturer has the best socket system for custom IEM's?
 
It seems that most of them mount at the edge and the pins act as a fulcrum point and would get bent or easily separate from the shell.
 
For a niche product, I feel that a little more development should be made in the connection - maybe locking/quick disconnect type connections.

I haven't tried them personally, but UE's recessed receptacle seems like a good idea. The pins on my JH16s get slightly bent from time to time.
 
A standardized quick disconnect would be really nice though.
