Do you have one?
yes, but just sold it because of the samsung s22 ultra with 1tb and the s-pen + dex option. better for my specific case.

I had S22 ultra for a week and sold it as prefer Z fold 3 instead.
I used to love Samsung Note. Now I am thinking to buy a new Sony Xperia iV when it will be available.
How was the experience with Sony Xperia iii soundwise?

How was the experience with Sony Xperia iii soundwise?
best i have heard so far.

it has a 3,5mm jack for hi-res

more information here.

and the bluetooth / LDAC stability was way beyond what samsung delivers. i really like the former note today s2x ultra series. but sony with its walkman department that finds the way into the xperia somehow is another level.

Could you please compare it to your DAPs?
i can't compare because i have at least 1 DAP always with me and 1 IEM. the xperia was just a backup for listening FLAC music. whenever i used it via LDAC or 3,5mm, it was more precise and clear than any other smartphone i have had (owned always the newest samsung / hauwei / LG (in the past)).

Does it have a dedicated DAC chip/Amplifier circuit? Or is it integrated in the SoC and just custom-tuned by Sony?
i don't know. this detail is not written on the sony homepage.

The Xperia 1-IV should be coming out within the next couple months, hopefully they upgrade the DAC over the Xperia 1 III so I can finally upgrade my V60 - it's really showing its age.

I've been playing music from my LG V30 for many years, and now thinking about buying a good a dac/amp dongle (I will pick one from donglemadness top 5 list). I was wondering is there noticeable upgrade in sound quality going from LG V30 to a $200-$300 dongle. please help me out. thank you

Like you, have been listening to my V30 over the last 3 years. In that time, I have purchased the Dragonfly Black and Zorloo Ztella dongles. I'd been switching back and forth between these 3 as they all have different sonic qualities. However, recently purchased the Cayin RU6 and just can't get enough of it - amazing purchase for this price bracket you have stipulated. Truly brilliant. Now waiting on my V40 so that I can use it as a DAP with the RU6 as the Cayin does drain battery - especially with hard to drive headphones like the Beyer DT880 pros. I can't recommend the RU6 enough.

I've been listening to the Xperia 5 ii with my Focal Stellia and it is exceptional. I prefer it to my Cambridge DAC XS so far, and that's a dongle that retailed well over £100. Why does the Sony sound good? It also drives them to a solid volume.
