Hope Sony can pick up where LG left off. They're better equipped to make a HiFi smartphone anyways, having a good hand in the DAP market. Just wish they were more transparent with the hardware in the new Xperia phone.

Eyeing on this too.
Hope they'll take the lead.
Loved my Sony Xperia Z3 3 years ago.
But tbh, i love the V30 more, especially for its music performance. ^^

Hello everyone. My s8+ screen dead so I am looking for a new phone, I know Head-fi isnt phone recommendation forum but I have a couple of questions.

I found Xiaomi Mi 9T. It have Qualcomm WCD9375 chip, If you know these how would it compared to my old S8+ exynox and how would it perform against LG V30 quad dac? v30 is 30$ cheaper but well, I m buying a phone not a DAP so I have to consider other specifications. Any help appreciated. I m using HD58x and Tin T2. (S8+ can power up 58x well) Here are the WCD9375 chips specifications:

Specifications
Audio Playback
Playback Dynamic Range: 122dB
Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise (THD+N), Playback: -105dB
Sampling, Playback: 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz, 192kHz
PCM, Playback: Up to 384kHz/32bit
Native DSD support: DSD64, DSD128
Additional Playback Features: DXD support, DoP Support (DSD over PCM)
Audio Recording
Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise (THD+N), Record: -103dB
Sampling, Record: Up to 192kHz/24bit
Recording Dynamic range: 109dB
Power Consumption
Audio playback: 28.52mW for high performance mode, 6mW low power mode

There is also meizu 16th with like 80-100$ cheaper but that thing doesnt get updates and its battery isnt that good but those hardware for the price? Unbeatable I guess.

Snapdragon DACs are not particularly impressive.they can't drive well hungry powered cans.sonically inferior to AKs and ESS ones even Cirrus Logic ones.As I mentioned before here even LG's Snapdragon Quad DACs found in LG G8x isn't sound that good in my opinion

If you are used at meizu phones (rooting, tweaking) get 16th. The Implementation of qualcomm dac is almost perfekt in this Phone.instead of v30 you can try V40 . I have both V40 and 16th and they are very good for your purpose.

Just trust in LG. I recommend V40 and above.

V30 might sound too thin for your headphone set up.

I m used to root/rom but I dont want to deal with them anymore. Lost so many precious photos there. Also 16th 3010 Mah battery looks really underwhelming, It seems I m going to get Xiaomi and if its DAC+AMP chip is enough there wont be an issue. Thanks for all suggestions. And Its too bad we dont have LG v40 in Turkey. Only v30 and G7

58x isnt that power hungry imo, takes %30 ish more power than T2 which is nothing, so getting enough volume shouldnt be an issue. I can compare Mi 9T against S8+ exynox when I get it.

Well We don't have V40 in Turkey so RIP. It would be overpriced anyway.

What about usb c dongle like ibasso dc01/02 or 9038s?

I think the LG V60 data sheet is pretty vague.

If you look at the actual Korean translation (instead of google translate to English) it states "Qualcomm DAC and HiFi DAC".

Why would they mention 2 Qualcomm dacs?

From what I understand, Qualcomm chips include the Qualcomm Aqstiq DAC embedded.

There is this little snippet at the bottom also:

20. However, it is not an important factor to determine what Qualcomm's own DAC is equipped with when an external DAC is installed.

We will have to wait and confirm.

just sold my new lg v40 that i tryed for two days. it was too big for my hands. short time to get some real impressions, especially because i have tried just two cheapish headphones that also didn't activated the high impedance mode. now i know i dont want a phone with a screen much bigger then 6 inches. any recommendation?

Sad to hear.
