Best Headphones for ALL genres.....

I'll chime to state that my Shure SRH840 works very well with most(I say most for the reason that there are musical genres that I don't listen to and therefore cannot comment on) music genres.

Great keep 'em coming. If you think there's a set of headphones that are versatile enough to fit all genres, post it here.

Currently interested in the HFI-580's myself although I'm not sure if its a worthy step-up from the M50's I have.

I find my MB Quart 805HS are pretty much chameleons, as are the Beyer DT250.  They are both a bit more analytical than a lot of people might like, but they just sort of work for anything, and are both quite engaging.

Orthodynamic headphones in general, vintage and new (except for maybe some of the colored Head-Direct phones) are good with all genres.

But also here's a list of all models I can think of right now:

M50, SRH840, KSC-75, HD600, HD650, AKG K340, K240 Sextett, Studio and Monitor, Beyer DT-150, ATH AD2000, Grado HP1000, Stax O2, Audeze LCD-2, Hifiman HE6, Sennheiser Orpheus

And these are guesses based on limited experience:

Sony R10, ATH L3000, Stax SR507

And guesses based on buzz:

Beyer DT1350, Stax SR009

Oh, I have these too. Two pairs - one stock and one recabled with a Mogami cable which clears up the sound even more. Amazing headphones for the price.

I've never heard anything good come out of an ipod.

I wasn't going to mention these, but now that I know the K271MKII really respond to amps/dap's with extra bass output I can say these make everything sound great.

The HD560 Ovation are even more versatile.

Wait, I was under the impression that the coloration had been taken care of with the LE. Which ones would you say are colored?

btw, the forums still thinks I'm on a mobile browser and won't load the full editor, so that's why this post is odd.

I don't really have the experience with them to say more...  I just think that based on comparisons to the HE6 and comments made by people who know orthos really well, that they wouldn't be good "all rounders"...

Based on personal preference, changes with mood and temperament, aural wants and wishes, even the time of day :
At the moment I'd say my HE Audio Jades powered with a Cavalli eXStatA Hybrid Amp . . . presently listening to Brendan Perry 'The Ark' - delicious!
