I would be interested to hear which headphones people recommend as best available under $500.
 
I listen to a variety of music, from Bach cello suites to Prodigy, so the cans should be versatile (like a cheaper Beyerdynamic T1, perhaps?)
 
I will also use a digital parametric EQ in the audio pipeline so any mild issues in the frequency response will not be relevant to me. More important is to find phones with low distortion and maximum transparency/detail which I can EQ to my taste.

You can find the Beyer T90 for around that price, many people who have had both (me included) will say that the T90 and T1 are too alike to have both in your inventory. They're going for $509 on Amazon with Prime shipping free right now.

I have not heard T1, but I own T90 and they fit your requirements. Recommended.
