Hey Im selling my CX 400 II's and IP2's and getting another set of cheap iem's. Whats the best in the 40-60 dollar range in terms of clarity, balance, no harshness in highs, deep warm lows, best build quality, comfort in your oppinion.

Thanks

By 'balance' are you referring to something flat and analytical, or something more lifelike and natural sounding? If it is the former then I'm not sure what to recommend. If you mean the latter then check out the meelectronics ai-m6 and m11. Between the two the m6 are objectively better in my opinion, although I confess to preferring their sound signature as well. But if you are exquisitely sensitive to highs than the m11 may be a better choice. Both are very comfortable and among the best built in their price class.

The Latter is what I meant. Yes im pretty sensitive to highs. So the M11 is a deeper sound then the M6?

Eh im not a fan of apples earphones. M6 and M11 are now out of the question after reading reviews. How about the Pl-50 or The PR1?

PR1 are out of production, although you may be able to get a pair from ebay or the for sale forums. The pl50 meet many of your needs as they are comfortable, with a very polite and non-fatiguing sound. Just be aware however that "deep warm lows" isn't an attribute I would associate with the pl50 or most other balanced armature IEMs. They are slightly warm, and the extension is fairly good as well. But deep and visceral they are not. Bass is not hard hitting and visceral, instead it politely knocks on the door just enough to make you aware of its presence.

look up the specs of the cx400's to the ex500's. I doubt that's a downgrade :/
